So...yeah...there is no nice way to say it. I've been really lazy for the past week. I've been sleeping in instead of getting up early to run. Then, when I get home from work, I'll make excuses for not doing a full workout. I'll go outside to run for about 10 minutes, then decide that I'm tired and go home.

I'm trying to turn things around this week, and not just because I'm running a 5k this weekend.

I went straight from work to the gym last night because I've figured out that once I make it home, I'm much less likely to go running or go to the gym. And this morning I actually woke up early and went to the gym BEFORE work (what?!? I know! I was very proud of myself.) and had an awesome hour of strength training.

Then, at work today, this arrived for me in the mail:

The Blerch is my spirit animal.
I had completely forgotten that I had pre-ordered this book through amazon, so the book's arrival was a nice little surprise. I'm taking it as a sign that I need to suck it up and get out there and keep running.

I need to focus on the things I like about running (the way I feel after completing a run) and push through the things I don't particularly care for (the way I feel at the beginning of a run).
